Resident artist, Amy Seidman, has been awarded a scientific visualization fellowship with the Sierra Nevada Research Institute for outstanding achievement in communicating science.

During this academic UC Merced program she has explored the use of digital media in Yosemite National Park on multiple levels. The primary goal was to develop media around the youth programs and Amy was able to mentor both ARC students and YLP interns in different media applications.

During this period, her engagement to date has resulting in a body of work that includes the IntoOutside.org platform mentioned above, as well as photography, video, a design study with the youth for a mobile application, the beginnings of a social media game, and a few songs.

While spending time in Yosemite which is an incredible natural wonder, Amy also tested a variety of Nikon camera equipment, and expanded on her ongoing iPhone series.  Explore the blog Seidman developed about the experience at www.AmySeidman.com.

The program is with UC Merced and compliments several academic partnerships with the park and the university.
